We're very excited to have so many new backers join the Summer Daze campaign - Welcome!
As a result, we can start to reveal some of our previously secret plans. We have more in store!
Special Rewards for Backer Milestones!
Thanks to reaching the 1000 backer milestone, Lori will do a live reading of the first chapter of How To Be A Hero: By the Book in our next livestream. That will once again be 4-6 pm on Saturday, Oct. 26 on our Twitch channel - https://www.twitch.tv/transolargames. After the performance, we'll save it as a YouTube video and share it here.
Lori plans to read another chapter for each additional 50 backers we get, so chapter 2 is also in the plans. We're already really close to the 1100 mark for chapter 3.
What is By the Book? It's a collaboration between Lori and author Mishell Baker to retell the story of Hero's Quest from the viewpoint of four young teenagers - three brothers and a sister - out on their first adventure. Falcon will someday be a Paladin. Hawk is the fighter, Owl the destined magic user, and Wren the young rogue. This unpublished book eventually transformed into the School for Heroes website, and now the Hero-U games.
If we reach 1250 backers, we will have another special reward for all backers at the "physical rewards" tiers, $150 and up. We will add the "lucky coin" to all of those reward tiers. The coin depicts a shamrock on one side, and "Hero-U" on the other. The coins are beautiful! We previously priced these coins at $30 as add-ons to the Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption kickstarter, so they will make a great collectible addition to the Summer Daze physical editions.

Don't forget to join our Twitch stream tomorrow! We plan to do this every Saturday for a while (yes, including after the Kickstarter campaign ends) to keep current with you, our community.
Find us at https://www.twitch.tv/transolargames . The stream will run for about two hours from 4 pm to 6 pm PDT (California time) on Saturday. (That will be Sunday a few hours earlier Down Under.)
Content will vary week by week. This week we'll talk about the 30th anniversary of our first adventure role-playing game, Hero's Quest (later renamed to Quest for Glory 1). In between the chatter, we'll have some fun games and great prizes!
Games include the double challenge of solving a cipher and answering the question it poses, guessing phrases, remembering trivia, and pun-upping your competitors (followed by a vote for best pun). Most of them are related to games in the Quest for Glory series... and one or two with Summer Daze themes. (Don't worry, they don't require Summer Daze trivia!)

Top tweeter wins a place in the upcoming livestream of Tower of Indomitable Circumstance - game-mastered by author Corey Cole using a weird hybrid of the Quest for Glory and Hero-U game systems. Chaos and fun are expected to rule the day.

We're starting some contests related to publicizing Summer Daze at Hero-U. These have three purposes:
They'll be fun opportunities for all of us to "play along."
We need more people to look at the Kickstarter to help us reach the goal.
Lori and I have some cool things to give away, and we're looking for excuses to do that.
Here's a video Lori made to announce this week's event. In addition to the individual prizes for letting more people know about Summer Daze, we have some great community rewards in store for reaching certain milestones. One of them is coming up at 1,000 backers!

New Reward Tiers Added!

We're at $54,000 and close to 900 backers!
We've added two more reward tiers:
The New Beachcomber Collector's Tier
At $150, the Beachcomber tier adds a collectible "big box" game along with all of the digital rewards of the $100 Beach Blanket Beta tier. The game box will have custom artwork by JP Selwood, and will contain Summer Daze at Hero-U on a DVD, a printed game manual, and the original soundtrack by Brandon Blume on CD. Here's the full description:
You'll start with all the rewards from the Beach Blanket Beta level, including the "heroes" role on Discord and all the digital rewards of that tier.
You'll also get a collector's boxed edition of the game, just the thing to brighten up your game shelf. In the box will be a DVD containing the game and a CD of the original soundtrack.
Note that we can't start producing these items until we've released the game in digital format, so your souvenir boxed game will arrive several months after we finalize the digital version of the game.

The New Summer Selfie Sponsor Edition Reward Tier
At $520 in the Summer Selfie Sponsor Edition, we're adding a new premium tier that includes art and credit in the game. Besides in-game credit, this tier is really designed for super fans to make a larger contribution to development of the game. The credit is our way of saying "Thank you" for the sponsorship. Here's what you get with this new tier:
This reward tier is for true fans of our games who want to help us make more great games! You'll be listed in the end credits along with a custom cartoonized image created by one of our talented artists!
You'll send us a photo or other picture, and a description or text to go with it. Our artists will turn this into a game-compatible cartodrawing that everyone can see in the end credits of the game along with your text. This will be in a special "Sponsors" section.
We'll also send you a poster, signed by selected team members including Lori and Corey, that contains your picture.
